Boerne Champion was at the Cedar Park XC Invitational last weekend and the Lady Chargers had another strong showing after they placed first for the second week in a row, while the Champion boys improved from its previous showing.
Varsity Girls
The Champion girls scored 50 points to top the field, Austin Vandegrift came in second with 63 points and Georgetown finished third with 76 points.
Elizabeth Leachman led the Chargers and placed fifth with a time of 19:05, Kynley Albright came in seventh in 19:21 and Josey Whitaker finished ninth in a time of 19:27 to make it three Champion runners in the top 10.
Grace Flores recorded a 19:54 for 13th, Jenna Koepke posted a time of 20:02 for 16th, Grace Mondini completed the race in 20:27 for 23rd and Kendall Fallon was one spot back in 24th with a time of 20:30 in the 5K or 3.1-mile race.
Varsity Boys
The Champion boys scored 134 points to finish sixth in the varsity race.
Austin Vandegrift won the race with 56 points; Georgetown came in second with 77 points and Clear Lake was third with 78 points. Round Rock was fourth (108) and Alamo Heights came in fifth (108) just ahead of the Chargers.
Luis Tovar led Champion with a 10th-place finish with a time of 16:27, Charles Houck came in 19th after posting a time of 17:04, Caleb Dehart recorded a 17:16.1 for 28th, Ben Matamoros was right behind Dehart after Matamoros clocked in at 17:16.8 for 30th, Noah Perez ran a 17:55 for 47th, Evan Simmons was 48th in 18:01 and Noah Shelby rounded out the team after he came in 53rd with a time of 18:05.
