The Boerne High varsity cross country teams raced last Saturday at the FEAST XC Invitational and competed well.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to run again this weekend at the Southwest Meet in San Antonio.
Varsity Girls
In the girls two-mile race, the Lady Greyhounds placed seventh in the field of 30 teams despite being down a few runners.
BHS scored 269 points in the race that was won by Lytle (87), followed by Poth (109) and Navarro (125).
For the Lady Greyhounds, Madison Morris paced the team with a 17th-place finish after she ran a 12:40, Mahaley Merkens posted a time of 13:08 for 34th, Genevieve Sengler came in 62nd after running a 13:45, Kelsey Farar placed 87th in 14:01, Sophia Kargeorge finished in 97th in 14:07 and Sophia King rounded out the team with a time of 14:18.
Varsity Boys
In the 1A-4A race, the Greyhounds finished third in the field of 26 teams.
Boerne tallied 166 points for third behind Lytle (68) and Austin Champions (112).
Caleb Benchoff led the Greyhounds with a time of 17:34 for 22nd, while Tayson Farar was three spots back in 25th place after running a 17:43, Carsten Bain finished in 29th place with a 17:46, Parker Powell turned in an 18:10 for 40th and Ben Macias clocked in at 18:27 for 50th.
Cole Palmer recorded an 18:37 for 56th, Chase Balderas finished in 18:56 for 67th and Hunter Prince rounded out the team with a time of 19:09.
