Lt. Col. Ann H. Lewis

Lt. Col. Ann H. Lewis, USAF (Ret.) died on August 17, 2022, in Boerne, Texas, at the age of 87. Ann was born on September 16, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Chatham College in 1956, and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1957. She served on many bases in the United States, as well as in Germany and Thailand. After a 21-year career in the Air Force, she retired in 1977.

In 1980 she became a volunteer at the Boerne public library, where she worked for the next 37 years.

Lt. Col. Lewis is survived by her first cousins, Mary Louise Cohen (Richard Alexander) and Ralph Williams (Beth); her second cousins, Timothy Cohen, Stephen Alexander, Michael Alexander, Jonathan Williams, Ryan Williams and Kristen Williams; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Tufano (Richard); and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Hope and Bill Lawler and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. William H. Lewis; and parents Virginia and Harold Hawthorne.

Lt. Col. Lewis had a private burial at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
