Boerne High remained unbeaten in district play after the Greyhounds picked up a win at Wimberley Friday night in boys basketball.
The Texans are much improved but the Greyhounds still beat them by 20 points in Wimberley, 75-55. The Hounds continue 28-4A play Tuesday and visit Bandera before hosting Davenport on Friday.
It was close early with Boerne leading 19-14 at the end of one and from there the Hounds started to pull away by winning the second quarter, 15-5, for the 34-19 halftime advantage.
Wimberley played well in the third and dropped in 22 but the Greyhounds still outscored them after they tallied 27 points for the 61-41 edge.
In the fourth quarter, the teams traded buckets and both hit for 14 points apiece to give Boerne the 20-point win.
The Greyhounds had three players finish in double figures after Devin Styles netted 19, Trevor Agarwal added 17 and Barrett Pape had 13. Preston Thompson scored 9 and almost made it four players in double digits, Koen Wolff and Houston Hendrix both chipped in with 6, Sam Waters had 3 and Colton Hoegemeyer hit for 2.
