Boerne ISD’s enrollment keeps creeping up and now stands at 10,738, an increase of 210 since the first day of the 2022-23 academic year.
Classes began for BISD students on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and on that day the student headcount was 10,528, district statistics indicated.
During the Aug. 15 board of trustees meeting, Superintendent Tom Price updated the enrollment number to 10,688. This past Monday, it was 10,728.
The 10,738 number computes to a 2 percent increase since opening day.
A year ago, Boerne ISD topped the 10,000 student enrollment mark for the first time. The opening-day 2021-22 student enrollment was 9,995, and it swelled to 10,117 students by the end of the first week as more parents registered their children and they started attending classes, according to information from BISD.
The same thing is occurring this year.
The 10,738 figure also is 337 higher than the 2021-22 end-of-the-year enrollment of 10,401.
