SAN ANTONIO – The Champion Charger tennis team went 2-1 this past weekend at the Northside ISD team tennis tournament and finished fifth.
The team started out with a first-round bye and opened play in the quarterfinals where they lost a close one to 6A Clark, 10-8.
On Saturday, the team bounced back to win its two matches that day. The Greyhounds defeated College Station, 10-2, in the morning and then faced Boerne High in the afternoon and won, 10-7.
The team’s overall record is 2-2 for the year. The Chargers start district on Tuesday when they travel to Judson Veterans Memorial.
