The team tennis season starts this week for both Boerne ISD programs.
Champion began its fall team tennis season Tuesday at home against San Antonio Johnson and fell to the Jaguars, 10-6, to begin the year at 0-1.
Johnson clinched its 10th win to technically earn the victory but there were still three girls singles matches out on the courts.
The coaches decided to let them finish out and the Chargers were winning all three matches, which might have made the final margin closer, but there were lightning flashes in the area and the coaches had to pull the players off and end it there.
Both Champion and Boerne High are scheduled to play in the Northside Tournament this weekend in San Antonio and Helotes.
