Boerne based Aqua Swift Aquatics, led by Coach Jason Schmeltzer, sent five age group swimmers to the Texas Age Group Swimming Championship Swim Meet (TAGS) in Dallas recently.
Highlights from the meet include a top-10 finish for Cora Skoog in the 100- meter freestyle, a top-10 finish for Riley Poordod in the 100-meter breaststroke and a top-10 finish for Karly Whitehead in the 50-meter backstroke.
There were also first-place finishes for Kate Canales in the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter breaststroke, along with a U.S. Junior national cut in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Additionally, Canales recorded a second-place finish in the 200-meter individual medley and a third-place finish in the 200- meter breaststroke.
Aqua Swift Aquatics has also been listed as a Top 100 Age Group Swim Team in the United States, coming in at No. 58. More than 100 youngsters between the ages of 5-18 participate on the Boerne Aqua Swift Swim Team that is sponsored by the city of Boerne
