Harold Oscar Raute

Mr. Harold “Cotton” Oscar Raute of Boerne passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the age of 83 years.
Harold was born August 13, 1938, in Comfort, Texas, to Bruno and Emilie Roeder Raute. Harold was married to Margie Raute for 55 years.
Harold served his country in the United States Army. Harold was a construction foreman for Hill Country Telephone for 40 years and owned and operated Bruno’s Curve in Comfort.
Harold is survived by his wife, Margie Bennight Raute, of Boerne; his children and their spouses, Michael Raute, Gloria and Jim Lamb, Linda and Keith Gilbert, Carol “Cookie” Althaus, Daniel and Sally Schonberg, Kenneth and Stanette Raute and Brenda and Kiff Hardin; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by two children, Shirley Eckhardt and Dennis Schonberg; and siblings Viola Ersch and Raymond Raute.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort. Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday July 14, at 10 a.m. in the Boerne City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Boerne Police Foundation, Comfort VFD or to the charity of one’s choice.
