Local motocross racer Brody Pacheco, 12, is headed to Loretta Lynn’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee for the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship scheduled for Aug. 1-6.
Pacheco brought home the championship title in his age group after taking first place recently on his KTM 65 at the AMA South Central Youth Regional Championship held in Tyler.
Only 42 riders in the world qualified to race at the prestigious Loretta Lynn ranch in each class.
Motocross is a form of off-road dirt bike racing and is known as one of the most physically demanding sports on the planet.
Since November of 2020, Pacheco has been training four days a week in Adkins and
Montgomery with professional motocross and supercross rider Kyle Swanson in preparation for the upcoming race.
Because of his schedule, Pacheco, formerly a student at BMSN, is now home schooling so he can focus more on his training.
Riders from all over the world come to the United States to race at the area and regional qualifiers, hoping to make it to the national event – which paves the way for a professional career in the sport.
