Dennis Neal Herms, a lifelong resident of Boerne, born September 4, 1963, to Richard Fritz Herms and Mary Kathryn Seiter Herms passed away at home with his partner, Judy, at his side on June 30, 2022, at the age of 58 after a long and hardfought battle with multiple myeloma.

Dennis is survived by his partner, Judy; son, Garrett Herms and fiancée Kristina Nolan; daughter, Brigitte Morris and husband Cody; grandson, Leo Neal Morris; sister, Tess Loman and husband Bubba; nephews, William and Eddie, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Kathy Herms; Uncle Jim; Uncle Joe; Aunt Shirley; Aunt Mary Ann; and Uncle Arlon.

Dennis graduated from Boerne High School in 1982 and soon after began his career as a plumber, earning his journeyman plumber license in 1986. He loved making sausage and jerky and baked the best pecan pies. He was the ‘best’ Dad, Pop and loving partner. He was a carpenter, excellent cook and gardener. He loved hunting, fishing and digging for arrowheads and loved his dog, Priss. He worked hard to support his children and was a proud Dad who saw them grow up to become who they are today and to live their lives and pursue their own hopes and dreams.

Dennis was a man who was true to his word, never backed down from his beliefs and loved with all his heart. He had a fun and silly side that emerged with zest. Dennis lived a simple life, yet it was a very full life. He was loved because we told him so!

The family would like to recognize the following men who supported and “carried” Dennis throughout his illness as honorary pallbearers: Aaron Arnold, Winston Ellison, Terry Hancock, Robert Parrish, Brian Rittimann, James Seiter, Howard Skeels and Rafe Taylor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home, 111 Rosewood Avenue, Boerne, TX. A Celebration of Dennis’ life will follow at the Gathering Hall, 33 Herff Road, Boerne, TX.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org, Kendall County Women’s Shelter at www.kcwstexas.org or a charity of your choice.
