Twelve men ended up behind bars over the weekend on salacious charges as the result of a state law enforcement sting operation based in Kendall County, but local and state officials remain tight-lipped on the details of the sting.

Information states the men all were arrested on charges of solicitation of prostitution, which is a state jail felony in Texas with a punishment range up to two years in state prison and a $10,000 fine. However, state code calls for increased punishment on succeeding convictions for the same crime.

The majority of the men, seven, were identified as San Antonio residents in their booking information in the Kendall County Jail, including 35-year-old Asadullah Asad, 33-year-old Bicheng Si, 27-year-old Isaac Romero, 39-year-old Joaquin Reyna, 20-year-old Sayedullah Wafa, 37-year-old Sean Unger and 22-year-old Steve Palafos.

The remaining arrestees had no address listed to determine what city they reside, including 35-year-old Braulino Hernandez, 39-year-old Christopher Franklin, 30-year-old Julius Ramon, 29-yearold Rakesh Bhairi and 51-year-old Shane Linder.

The two-day sting operation resulted in two additional drug charges for Franklin and Unger, records show. Franklin is being charged with possession of less than a gram of a Penalty Group 1 substance, which is another state jail felony, and Unger is being charged for possession of between four and 200 grams of a Penalty Group 1 substance. This means Unger is facing a second-degree felony on top of his solicitation of prostitution charge which could result in a punishment range of two to 20 years in state prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

All the men were held on at least a $10,000 bail for the solicitation charge, and all but Wafa have bailed out. However, Franklin bailed out on an additional $50,000 bond because of his added drug charge.

None of the men have been before a grand jury at this time, so prosecution is pending.
