While both still in high school, John Carlos Jones and Sybil Ruth Jones met in 1946 while on summer vacation in Lake City, Colorado, and were later married on June 3, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas.
Over the course of their marriage, the couple lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, Lubbock, El Paso, San Antonio and Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. They have enjoyed a home away from home at their Sabinas Creek Ranch in Kendall County for the last 30 years.
Carlos retired from his career in architecture having completed many large institutional and educational projects in San Antonio and around Texas. Sybil was a Christian educator for many years while also being a homemaker and wife to Carlos. They both were devoted to their children, Arthur and Kara, and now enjoy six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
