The Boerne High girls soccer team capped a great season and had 13 players receive all-district recognition, including three players that earned superlative awards.
Junior Kylie Combs was named the Forward of the Year, senior Regina Hernandez was voted the Midfielder of the Year and junior Madeline Davis was named the Utility Player of the Year.
First-team selections for the Lady Greyhounds were junior Hannah Bowen, junior Lily Griffith and junior Kassie Lozano.
Junior Madison Davis, sophomore A’Marie Ramirez and junior Kate Spiekerman landed on the second team, while freshman Kinsley Sawyer, senior Taylor Durham, freshman Avery Ukeiley and sophomore Taylor Hudson were named honorable mention.
It was a stellar year for the Lady Hounds team that played in the state tournament despite not winning the district. BHS went 8-1-3 in 26-4A and then got rolling in the playoffs.
They beat Austin Achieve, Uvalde, Canyon Lake, Santa Gertrudis and then defeated Calallen in the regional finals before they lost to eventual 4A champs Celina in the state semifinals to end the year with a record of 20-4-5 overall.
