Hill Country Family Services announced that Bryce Boddie, LMSW, recently joined its team as the senior director of behavioral health services. Information states his new role is to help implement a collaborative Kendall County-wide mental and behavioral health program and curriculum which when implemented will provide critically needed behavioral health support tools, classes, and pathways to access support services for all citizens in Kendall County.

Boddie grew up in Southeast Texas. He earned a bachelor of science degree in geography and urban planning from Southwest Texas (Texas State) University and a master’s of social work degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio. As a part of the master’s program, he completed a 450-hour practicum at Hill Country Family Services and another 450 hours at The Holmgren Center in Northside ISD in San Antonio.

After he graduated, he worked as a medical social worker with Alamo Hospice in Boerne and the Hill Country for over four years. In 2019, he started as a field coordinator for The College of Health, Community and Policy in the Department of Social Work at UTSA.

Boddie said the opportunity to work with Hill Country Family Services and alongside Boerne ISD, Comfort ISD and the citizens of Kendall County has always been his dream vocation, adding “Social workers help connect the dots for anyone and everyone, and being able to do that in Kendall County for mental and behavioral health is exciting.”

Boddie has been a member of the Boerne City Council serving in District 4 since July 2020.
