José T. Villegas
October 18, 1938 – January 10, 2022
José T. Villegas was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the blessed age of 83, with his children by his side.
He was born on October 18, 1938, in Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico, to Rita and Manuel Villegas. On November 15, 1959, he married the love of his life, Maria Ines Ramirez, and moved to Boerne, Texas, for a short time before moving to Huntington Park, California, where they raised their family, before finally retiring in Boerne, Texas, where he lived his final years.
A parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, José showed his devotion to Jesus and His teachings by living a life of servitude. José was a member of The Guadalupanas, Knights of Columbus, Spanish Bible Study Leader, RICA and served as Ultreya leader for a year. José was admired and respected by many for his thoughtfulness and caring ways.
José, endearingly referred to as Chavo by his family, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who took great pride in his family’s traditions, especially the Christmas tamales, and enjoyed serenading his family and friends with his guitar at family gatherings and social events.
José is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Maria Ines, and sons José Manuel and Jesús Manuel.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by his six surviving children, Gloria Villegas, Lucy Luevanos (Juan), José I. Villegas, René Villegas-Lopez (Mateo), Gerardo Villegas and Alexandra Garcia (Balvin John); 10 grandchildren, Vanessa Rodriguez (Oscar), Michael Perez (Cynthia), Valerie Garcia (Jacob), Krissy Ontiveros (Tony), Natalie Luevanos, Juan Luevanos, Jackie Villegas, Jasmine Villegas, Joel Villegas and Christopher Villegas; and 16 great-grandchildren, Mikey, Diego, Christian, Mia, Sammy, Vivi, Bleux, Teddy, Jacob, Sophia, Tony, Mathew, Noah, Jimmy, Jiselle and Max. Heaven has gained our greatest treasure.
José leaves behind a legacy of faith and devotion to God for all to follow.
A viewing will begin Monday, January 17, 2022, at 5 p.m. with the Rosary starting at 6 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home at 111 Rosewood Ave., Boerne, Texas. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 202 W. Kronkosky St., Boerne, Texas.

José T. Villegas fue llamado al cielo para estar con el Señor el lunes 10 de enero de 2022 a la bendita edad de 83 años, con sus hijos a su lado.
Nació el 18 de octubre de 1938 en Saltillo Coahuila México, hijo de Rita y Manuel Villegas. El 15 de noviembre de 1959 se casó con el amor de su vida, María Inés Ramírez, y se mudó a Boerne, TX por un corto tiempo antes de mudarse a Huntington Park, CA donde criaron a su familia, antes de finalmente retirarse en Boerne, TX, donde vivió sus últimos años.
Un feligrés de la Iglesia Católica San Pedro Apóstol, José mostró su devoción a Jesús y sus enseñanzas al vivir una vida de servicio. José fue miembro de Las Guadalupanas, Caballeros de Colón, líder de estudios bíblicos en español, RICA y se desempeñó como líder de Ultreya durante un año. José fue admirado y respetado por muchos por su amabilidad y cariño.
José, cariñosamente conocido como Chavo por su familia, fue un devoto esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo que se enorgullecía de las tradiciones de su familia, especialmente los tamales navideños, y disfrutaba dando serenatas a su familia y amigos con su guitarra en las reuniones familiares y eventos sociales.
José se reune en el Cielo con su amada esposa María Inés y sus hijos José Manuel y Jesús Manuel.
Es amado y lo extrañarán mucho sus seis hijos sobrevivientes, Gloria Villegas, Lucy Luevanos (Juan), José I. Villegas, René Villegas-Lopez (Mateo), Gerardo Villegas y Alexandra Garcia (Balvin John); diez nietos, Vanessa Rodriguez (Oscar), Michael Perez (Cynthia), Valerie Garcia (Jacob), Krissy Ontiveros (Tony), Natalie Luevanos, Juan Luevanos, Jackie Villegas, Jasmine Villegas, Joel Villegas y Christopher Villegas; y dieciséis bisnietos; Mikey, Diego, Christian, Mia, Sammy, Vivi, Bleux, Teddy, Jacob, Sophia, Tony, Mathew, Noah, Jimmy, Jiselle y Max. El cielo ha ganado nuestro mayor tesoro.
José deja un legado de fe y devoción a Dios para que todos lo sigan.
