Boerne High dominated this year’s All-District 14-4A DI selections.
A total of 37 players were named in 38 positions and the head coach were honored by the district coaches as well.
Eight Greyhound earned superlative awards, five were firstteam offensive selections, seven Greyhounds were named second-team offense and two more Hounds were honorable mention offense.
Six Boerne players were first-team defensive selections, another six Hounds landed on the second-team defense and five more Greyhounds were named honorable mention defense.
Che Hendrix was named Coach of the Year, Rashawn Galloway was voted unanimous District MVP, Tanner Lundy was Defensive MVP, Jacob McLaughlin was Offensive Lineman of the Year, Jose Aparicio was voted Defensive Lineman of the Year, Chance Gentry was voted Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Huston Hendrix was voted unanimous Defensive Newcomer of the Year and Houston Hendrix was voted unanimous Utility Player of the Year.
Koby Hunter was firstteam tight end, Riley Pechacek was a unanimous first-team inside receiver and Cam Johnson was a first-team outside receiver, Coy Embry was a first-team guard and Sam Waters was a unanimous first-team tackle.
Adrian Cuervo was a second-team running back, Logan Schram was a second-team tight end, Justin Moore was a second-team outside receiver, Koen Wolff was also a second-team outside receiver, Riley Mackrell was a second-team guard, Clay Naiser was a second-team tackle and Max Garcia was voted second-team utility.
JP Castro and Riley Pfeiffer both landed on the honorable mention offensive team.
Defensively, Caleb Hamby was a firstteam defensive lineman, Andrew Poole was a firstteam defensive end, Sam Kennell was a unanimous first-team outside linebacker, Aaron Oviedo and Colby Brown were firstteam cornerbacks and Will Pearson was firstteam safety.
Riley Mackrell was recognized on both sides of the ball and on defense, he was a second-team defensive lineman, Jeffrey Brown was a second-team defensive end, Landon LeStourgeon was a second-team inside linebacker, Tate Cracraft was a second-team corner, Cole Gentry was a second-team defensive utility player and Justin Moore was a second-team kicker.
Honorable mention defensive selections for the Hounds included Luke Mellina, Layton Middleton Brenden Levada, Will French and Charlie Stahl.
The Greyhounds claimed a district title for the second season in a row with an undefeated record at 4-0. Boerne went 9-3 overall and made it to the third round of the 4A state playoffs, both for the second year in a row as well.
