There’s a new breed of justice in town, and he’s ready to sniff out criminals with a shake of his tail! Straight from the doghouse of author/illustrator Dav Pilkey comes the New York Times bestselling Dog Man series.

When Greg the police dog and his cop companion are injured on the job, a life-saving surgery changes the course of history, and Dog Man is born. With the head of a dog and the body of a human, this heroic hound has a real nose for justice. But can he resist the call of the wild to answer the call of duty?

Dav Pilkey has written and illustrated numerous popular, award-winning books for children, including the Captain Underpants and Dumb Bunnies series; Dog Breath, winner of the California Young Reader Medal; and The Paperboy, a Caldecott Honor Book.

Pilkey, who was diagnosed with dyslexia as child, has long been a hero to teachers, librarians and parents for his uncanny ability to inspire even the most reluctant readers to enjoy reading.

“Growing up with learning challenges in school, I’ve been fortunate to have had the encouragement and support of my parents who helped me to associate reading with fun,” Pilkey said in a statement released by Scholastic. “I have fond memories of going to the library with my mom who had a radical idea: She let me pick whatever book I wanted to read. Reading without judgment was a turning point in my life.”
