Geneva School of Boerne pitcher Shawn George tossed a no hitter Wednesday to help the Eagles win its playoff opener against Emery Weiner in Boerne.
George went all 7 innings and only threw 82 pitches to help Geneva get the 5-0 victory.
The Eagles are 15-3-1 overall and advance to the second round against Bullard Brook Hill on Tuesday.
George almost finished with a perfect game since he didn’t walk a batter but the team committed three errors that allowed runners on base.
Wednesday’s game was tied 0-0 until Hudson McNew hit a bases-loaded single in the fourth that brought in 2 runs.
The Eagles added 3 more runs in the fifth with an error, two walks and a single for the 5-0 lead.
Geneva finished with 6 hits including a double from Luke Valdez, while George, Guy Kohler, Chaz Lutz, Colton Lutz and McNew all singled.
Kohler scored twice, Chaz Lutz picked up an RBI and scored a run, while Ford Elizondo and George Viña both scored once.
