Chargers dominate at district track, advance several to Area

The Champion track and field program competed at its District and Area meets recently and performed well at both.

At district, three of the four Charger teams claimed 26-5A titles at the meet held at New Braunfels Canyon.

The top four finishers at district advanced to the Area meet held last week, also at Canyon with a chance to advance to regionals.

The Champion varsity teams both finished second at Area. For Area meet results, be sure to check the Boerne Star.

At district, the Lady Chargers varsity won district with 139 points, while the varsity boys also took 1st with 130 points.

The JV girls captured first with 155 points and the JV boys came in fourth.

On the varsity boys side, Arlis Adickes took 1st in the 100 to qualify for Area, Sawyer Bolli made it in the 200, Ben Blomqvist qualified in the 400 and 110 hurdles, while Brock Lewis captured 1st in the 110 hurdles and Lewis was also 1st in the 300 hurdles.

The 4x100 relay of Corbin Mitchell, Arlis Adickes, Alex Rodriguez and Sawyer Bolli made it, the 4x200 of Caleb Smith, Adickes, Rodriguez and Mitchell advanced and the 4x400 of Ranger Lewis, Brock Lewis, Bolli and Blomqvist qualified.

Luke Rossi advanced in the pole vault, Brock Lewis won the long jump for his third individual district title, Hayden Brace advanced in the triple jump, Connor Warzecha made it in the shot put and Warzecha also took 1st in the discus, while Riley Wampler advanced in the discus event as well.

On the girls side, Madison Meinke advanced in the 100 meters, Riley Burkey made it in the 400, while Chachi Gonzales took 1st in the 800, 1600 and 3200 races.

Kate Williams also made it to Area in the 1600 and 3200, while Addison Hankins won the 100 hurdles and also advanced in the 300 hurdles along with Meghan Huerta.

The 4x200 of Carsyn Bradley, Regan Garcia, Finley Shankley and Madison Meinke, along with the 4x400 of Reagan Burkey, Regan Garcia, Meghan Huerta and Riley Burkey both advanced.

Riley Burkey won the high jump and made it in the long jump, Catherine Knox advanced in the pole vault and Hailee Goodwin qualified in the shot put.
