After a run-rule defeat at the hands of the Hounds on Tuesday, Pieper was able to salvage a split with Boerne after the Warriors rallied late and scored 3 runs in its last at bat to defeat BHS on Thursday, 5-4.
Boerne is 9-4 in district and 17-6 overall. The Greyhounds play at Wagner Saturday and then close out the regular season with New Braunfels next week.

Boerne 11, Pieper 1
The Greyhounds handed Pieper an 11-1 run rule defeat in six innings last Tuesday in Boerne.
Campbell Jackson didn’t give up much from the mound and scattered 2 hits and struck out 9, while only walking 2 and allowing 1 earned run to score.
It was a game of “3s” for BHS after they scored 3 runs in three different innings. The Greyhounds pushed in 3 runs in the first, 3 more in the second and 3 in the fourth. They didn’t score in the third but tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth frames.
When Jackson Grimes scored in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch, it kicked in the mercy rule.
Boerne finished with 8 hits, 7 of them singles, with one double. Grimes hit the double to go with a single and drove in 3 runs, Walker Hill hit 2 singles and scored 3 runs, Brooks Perez singled and walked and scored twice, Dylan Perez walked twice, picked up 2 RBI and scored once, while Ryan Hooper collected 2 RBI.
