Geneva softball shutout by CC Incarnate Word

The Geneva School of Boerne softball bats were kept very quiet Tuesday when the Eagles traveled to Corpus Christi to take on Incarnate Word.

Geneva was held to one hit and no runs and was shutout by the Angels, 9-0.

The Eagles slip to 9-3 this year and closed out the regular season with Tuesday’s game. They’ll open the playoffs next, with the date, time and opponent TBD.

Landry Smith recorded Geneva’s only hit on Tuesday, a bunt single in the third inning.

CC Incarnate Word tallied a single run in the first inning, 4 in the second and 3 in the third for the 8-0 lead. The Angels added another run in the fifth to cap their scoring.

Geneva pitcher Madeline Egbert struck out 8 batters in the game.
