Geneva School of Boerne hosted a pair of softball games in Boerne that bookended the weekend and blew both opponents away.

The Eagles defeated Corpus Christi John Paul II last Friday, 16-1, and then beat New Braunfels Christian Academy on Monday, 19-4.

Geneva is 9-2 overall and played at Corpus Christi Incarnate Word Tuesday to close out district action.

Vs. CC JPII

The Corpus Christi school scored a run in the first inning but that was it for the game.

Geneva answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the frame for the 5-1 advantage. They added 4 runs in the second and 7 in the third for the 16-1 victory.

Pitcher Kate Friesenhahn earned her first win of the season and only gave up one hit.

Friesenhahn helped her cause after she went 2 for 2 at the plate, hit a sac fly in the second and finished with 3 RBI in the game. Lexi Oglesby recorded a 2-RBI single in the 1st and Sydney Schaefer hit a 2-RBI single in the 3rd.

Vs. NBCA

New Braunfels Christian Academy kept it close for a couple of innings and Geneva was only up 2-0 as the game went into the third inning.

NBCA actually took a 4-2 lead with 4 runs in the top of the third, but the Eagles answered with 9 runs in the bottom half of the frame and pulled ahead, 11-4.

Geneva closed it out with 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth to end it via the 15-run mercy rule.

The Eagles finished with 17 hits in the contest and 8 of their starters had 2 or more hits.

Madeline Egbert went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and triple, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, Kate Friesenhahn finished 2 for 3 at the plate, had a sac fly, double, triple, picked up 3 RBI and scored 2 runs, while Maegan Riebel went 2 for 4 at the plate and hit a double, triple, collected 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.

Egbert picked up her 6th win of the season from the circle and entered with the Eagles trailing 4-2 with one out in the third and helped to turn it around. She struck out 4 batters and only allowed 1 hit.
