• April 26: Wirework Earring

Fabricate custom beaded earrings made from wire and crystal beads. Examine gauges, conditioning and design elements or wire as we use professional jeweler’s tools to form delicate wraps that capture beads and stone elements.

• May 3 and 10: Silk Painting

Practice the technique of Serti. A resist is applied to silk cloth and dye is applied across the surface resulting in bold colors and patterns. The addictive process of the wicking color produces a unique silk habotai scarf.

• May 17: Metal Tape Embossing

Embellish a piece for your wall in old world elegance. Dabble in the art of manipulating metal in relief fashion. Use embossing tools and textural elements to create a dimensional design. Add color or bring out the pattern and contrast with metal patinas.

• May 24: Quilling

Roll, loop, twist and curl your way to a wonderful experience. The Renaissance art of paper manipulation once adorned books, cabinets, and purses. In our class, we will focus on modern applications of this enjoyable art form constructing a design that will compliment any wall.

The cost for the classes is $35 with discounts for membership. Additional class descriptions and limited registration are available at www.hccarts.org/workshops.
