After a two-year hiatus, the Boerne ISD German program hosted its German Spelling Bee – Bezirksbuchstabiene. Boerne High School’s Cole Grotjohn was the overall first place grand champion, with Champion’s Austin Roche earning second place and Boerne High’s Haily Muir ending up third.
Students from all five secondary campuses participated in the contest.
The results are as follows:
German I: First place, Drew Haines, Champion; second place, Evan Sheerin, Voss Middle School; third place, Ellie Christianson, Boerne Middle School North.
German II: First place, Cole Grotjohn, Boerne High; second place, Hailey Muir, BHS; third place, Mackenzie Love, Champion.
German III: First place, Liana Forster, Champion; second place, Collyn Bakkar, Champion.
German IV: First place, Austin Roche, Champion; second place, Samantha Spencer, BHS; third place, Wyatt Speer, BHS.
The top two winners of each level qualified for the final round which crowned the overall district spelling bee champions.
