COMFORT – The Deer softball team hung with Ingram for a bit, but the Lady Warriors scored 8 runs in the sixth and went on to run rule Comfort, 15-0, in six innings.
Comfort is 5-16 overall and 2-4 in district. They were at Ingram on Friday to close out their series with the Warriors. They visit Brady on Monday.
Ingram was only up 1-0 through three innings but gained some separation in the fourth frame with 6 runs for the 7-0 lead.
Comfort was still within striking distance, but the Lady Warriors shut down any chances of a comeback with an 8-run sixth frame to bust it open at 15-0.
The Comfort bats were mostly quiet, but they did have base hits from Hope Van Geffen and Anna Munoz.
Ella Thiele went 5.2 innings in the circle and struck out 6, while Kaydence Stehling closed it out by striking out the only batter she faced on three pitches.
Jaycee Crawley was solid at the plate for Ingram and smacked a home run and a double and picked up 3 RBI.
Kylie Traub had a good night in the circle for Ingram and only gave up 2 hits, no runs, no walks and fanned 7.
