APRIL 1

TEA PARTY MEETING: Beginning at 6:30 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the Boerne candidates running for Mayor and City Council Districts 2 and 4 in the General Election. The meeting will be held at Tusculum Brewery, 236 S. Main St.

NPSOT CHAPTER MEETING: Guest speaker is Michael Mitchell, retired game warden for Texas Parks and Wildlife, beginning at 6 p.m. at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. with the focus of Bat Conservation.

GSKC GENEALOGY COURSE: A beginning genealogy course covering a variety of topics for beginners and seasoned researchers is being held from 1-3 p.m. at St John Lutheran Church, 315 Rosewood Ave. GSKC tickets $30, non-members $25. BISD ART SHOW: A special open house will be held 5-7 p.m. at the Patrick Heath Public Library to showcase Boerne ISD student artwork. Visit the library during the entire month of April to see masterpieces created by students from all grades in the school district.

APRIL 2

LEMONADE PICK-UP PARTY: Pick-up will take place at United Texas Credit Union, 1440 S. Main St., from 4-6 p.m. Pick up your backpack, get awesome freebies and get questions answered. Contact [email protected] with questions.

APRIL 4

FAMILY NIGHT HIKE: Night Hikes for Families accommodate short legs and short attention spans while still instructing about The Cibolo. Cost is $30 per family; hike will begin at 7:30 p.m. Register at cibolo.org.

GOLDEN EGG HUNT sponsored by the Boerne Retail & Restaurant Owners Association. On April 4 and 5, go egg hunting on the Hill Country Mile for special egg prizes at participating vendors. Once your trail card is complete, you will be entered to win The Golden Egg.

APRIL 5

SWEET POTATO WORKSHOP: A 10-11:30 a.m. hands-on workshop dedicated to sweet potatoes, at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. Everyone will receive three different varieties of sweet potato plants/slips to take home. Register at cibolo.org.

APRIL 10

BOERNE AREA DEMOCRATS: Guest speaker is State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, District 116 representative, beginning at noon at the Longhorn Cafe, 369 S. Esser St. Fischer will discuss the 89th legislative session. Arrive early if planning to dine.

DIVA SPRING FLING: From 5-9 p.m., join hundreds of Boerne area women for an evening of shopping, drawings and refreshments. Participants will receive a flower crown and a Diva bag, while supplies last. Vendors can contact Steely Lott at the chamber, [email protected].

APRIL 12

CUB CRAWL 5K and Fun Run at Cibolo Creek Elementary, 300 Herff Ranch Blvd. in Boerne. Kids fun run begins at 7:45 a.m.; 5K at 8 a.m. Race entry is $30, includes T-shirt; all ages welcome. Search “Cub Crawl 5K” on a search engine to find entry login.

APRIL 19

NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY of Texas holds its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Herff Farm teaching barn, 33 Herff Road, A great opportunity to obtain native plants suited to this eco-region and make your space beautiful. For more: www.npsot.org.

MAY 3

MUSIC ON THE MILE: Enjoy music, food and fun from noon to 11 p.m. along Main Street and River Road. Artists will play on stages throughout the Hill Country Mile and beyond. Listen to your favorite artists while munching on local specialties of food and drinks. No charge to attend.
