BOERNE — Boerne Champion High School Assistant Principal Analiese Haben and cafeteria worker Eugine Edwards have been nominated for National Life Group’s 2024-25 “LifeChanger of the Year” award.
Sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 educators and school district employees nationally who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence, and leadership.
Haben was nominated by Sylvia Castillo, a member of the community, who admired her passion for inclusion and student success. As a mother of a child with cerebral palsy, Haben is committed to ensuring all students, especially those with special needs, are empowered to reach their full potential.
In her role as an assistant principal at Champion, she has led initiatives in campus safety, advanced placement testing and special education inclusion. She previously earned recognition as Teacher of the Year and secured multiple education grants.
“Her approach to education is guided by strong moral and ethical principles, influenced by her role as a mother and advocate for her son,” Castillo said. “She is driven by a belief in fairness, equity, and the transformative power of education, ensuring every student feels valued and has the resources to thrive.”
Haben nominated Edwards for his impact as a beloved cafeteria worker.
His warm smile and positive energy, she said, create a welcoming environment where students, faculty, and staff feel valued. Beyond serving meals, he builds meaningful connections, remembers personal details, and offers encouragement to those in need, embodying the true spirit of service.
“Whether volunteering for extra shifts or assisting with school events, his selflessness and enthusiasm inspire others, making him a true Life Changer,” Haben said.
