BOERNE — Joe Bateman has announced his candidacy for Boerne City Council District 2.
As the community experiences significant growth, Bateman said it is essential to have strong, ethical leadership that prioritizes transparency, accountability and responsible decision-making.
“My goal is to ensure that residents have a voice in shaping Boerne’s future while preserving the qualities that make our city unique,” he said.
With a commitment to fiscal responsibility and efficient governance, he advocates for policies that respect taxpayers, promote sustainable infrastructure development and enhance public safety. A lifelong conservative, he said he believes “in practical solutions that support economic growth without increasing the financial burden on our residents.”
As a seventh-generation Texan, Bateman was raised with a strong foundation of integrity, faith and service. He said his more than 20 years of leadership experience in a Fortune 15 technology and communications company, as well as experience as a franchise owner and small business entrepreneur, bring a results-driven approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
Beyond his professional background, he remains active in the community. He serves on Boerne’s Historical Landmark Commission and has completed the Boerne Leadership Class of 2024 and the 2025 Community Leadership Academy.
“I have worked with Boerne ISD’s legislative priority team, to advocate for policies benefiting our schools,” he said. Additionally, his volunteer work includes time spent with organizations such as Junior Achievement, Meals on Wheels and Back on Your Feet.
“My wife and I chose Boerne as our home because of its charm, character and shared values,” he said. “As a father of two BISD students, I am deeply invested in ensuring that Boerne remains a wonderful place for families, businesses and future generations.”
Bateman said he looks forward to meeting his District 2 constituents, hearing their concerns “and working together to keep Boerne strong.”
