The Greyhound track and field teams were back at it after the weather canceled a couple of their recent meets.
Boerne High was entered in the Canyon Lake Hawk Relays where the Lady Greyhounds finished 3rd with 116 points and the boys were 2nd with 129 points.
BHS was also entered in the Alamo Heights meet last week. For results of that meet, see the Boerne Star.
RESULTS: Varsity Girls
Prisca Igbo sprinted her way to a 1st-place finish in the 100 hurdles after recording a 15.49 and Igbo was 2nd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.89, while Brei Johnson came in 4th in the 300 hurdles with a 50.82.
Sophia Karageorge placed 4th in the 3200 with a time of 12:56, Abigail Jendrusch posted a 2:32.06 in the 800 for 4th and she just edged teammate Penelope Kirk who clocked in at 2:32.12 for fifth.
Jendrusch also came in 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 5:36 and Eleanor Davis earned a team point after she was 6th in the 1600 with a 5:56.
Savannah Siebert clocked in 59.95 in the 400 sprint that earned her 3rd place.
The Boerne girls 4x100 relay team placed 2nd with a time of 51.20, the 4x200 was 3rd after posting a 1:51 and the 4x400 finished 3rd after clocking in at 4:24.
Ella Schram won the shot put with a toss of 33- 09.75 and Bonnie Johnson was 6th with a throw of 28-4.
Schram swept the throwing events and also took 1st in the discus with a fling of 105-06, while Prisca Igbo earned another 1st-place finish in the high jump after she cleared 5-0.
Varsity Boys
The Greyhounds did well in distance events after Valor Menn took 1st in the 3200 with a time of 9:54.62, Aaron Garcia was 2nd in 9:54.77 and Brayden Scott came in 3rd in 10:08.
In the 1600, Garcia took 1st in 4:31, Jackson Temple placed 2nd in 4:33 and Scott finished 3rd with a time of 4:35.
Julian Wasel finished 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:07, while Ronnie Brooks came in 5th in the 100 dash at 11.53.
Logan Papia and Dominic Sanchez went 4-5 after Papia clocked in at 44.82 and Sanchez posted in the 300 hurdles with a 45.56, while Hudson Bruce turned in a 16.51 in the 110 hurdles for 2nd place.
The Greyhound 4x100 relay finished 5th after combining for a time of 45.62, the 4x200 came in 5th after posting a 1:37 and the 4x400 was 4th after recording a 3:39.
The Greyhounds also did well in field events, particularly throwing events after Zayden Biela won the shot put with a toss of 44-8.75, Logan Schram was 2nd at 44-2 and Keegan Fischer earned more team points in the shot after he came in 4th with a heave of 42-0.25.
Ben Bays topped the field in the discus with a throw of 138-0, Keegan Fischer was 2nd with a toss of 130-3 and Aidan Riebel finished 6th after recording a 116-08.
