With one game left in league play, the Boerne softball team claimed this year’s 28-4A title and did it against last year’s district champ.
Boerne defeated Fredericksburg last Thursday at home 10-0 to claim the 28-4A crown.
The Lady Hounds moved to 23-5 overall and 9-0 in district. They’ll visit Wimberley on Tuesday to close out 28-4A action.
Madi Dorrow had a great game and hit 2 home runs and was also the winning pitcher.
Dorrow homered in the first and third frames and helped Boerne jump out to a 9-0 lead. BHS added another run in the fifth to make it 10-0 and end the game via the mercy rule.
Dorrow finished with 4 RBI and only gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3.
Heidi Maytum hit 2 doubles, drove in 3 runs and scored twice; Brooke Sivek and Ava Rodriguez scored one run each; Reese Wilson singled, scored and picked up an RBI; Taryn Madlock recorded 2 singles; Ava Nieto hit 2 singles and scored 2 runs and Taylor Wilson crossed home plate once.
