Geneva School of Boerne Grammar students, faculty and parents mobilized across Boerne Feb. 14 for the school’s annual “Love Thy Neighbor Day.”
The day, in honor of Valentine’s Day, is an effort to love others and give generously as the Bible instructs.
Students visited city and county officials, and police, fire, sheriff and EMS offices to express gratitude for all they do to protect and serve their residents.
The students also assisted several area ministries, visited nursing homes and senior living establishments, and picked up trash and swept store fronts on Main Street.
“Love Thy Neighbor Day” began 13 years ago as a way to teach students to be ‘other-focused,’” Geneva Grammar School Headmaster Jessica Gombert said.
“It is a joy to witness 300 Geneva students serve the Boerne community. I hope that these acts of kindness will inspire others in our community to do the same,” she added.
