Boerne High maintained its grip on second place in the 26-5A boys soccer standings after the Greyhounds ran away from Wagner last Friday night to begin the second round of district play.
BHS almost kicked in the mercy rule but was one goal short of that after they shutout the Thunderbirds, 7-0.
The Greyhounds are 7-1-1 in 26-5A and the only team ahead of them is Pieper at 9-0 after Friday.
Boerne is 9-2-1 overall and was back in action Tuesday at Kerrville Tivy, before hosting Veterans Memorial Friday.
BHS was up 4-0 at halftime and knocked in three second-half goals.
Austin Vecino and Shae Gonzales recorded 2 goals apiece, while Felix Theiss, Gabriel Sallick and Ramzy Handel tallied 1 goal each.
Carsten Bain, Brody Bowen, Vecino, Gonzales and Handal all finished with one assist in the match.
