at Seguin tournament
It was a good week of softball for Boerne High.
The Lady Greyhounds opened last week with a district victory over Wagner in their first game as a 5A.
BHS also played in the Seguin tourney last weekend and picked up four wins to finish the week at 5-0. Their two games scheduled for Saturday were called.
Boerne resumed district play Tuesday at Kerrville Tivy.
At the Seguin tourney, the Greyhounds beat Grulla, 6-2, and Ryleigh Hastings had the first home run of the year for BHS and picked up 3 RBI.
Ava Renteria and Riley Partin both hit doubles in the game as well.
Cerissa Nasis earned the win from the circle and struck out 4 batters.
Ryleigh Hastings had another strong game as the Lady Hounds defeated the El Paso Tigers later on Thursday, 12-8.
Hastings hit a 3-run homer in the second and also had two other hits to drive in 4 runs and she scored three times.
Riley Partin finished with 3 hits and 2 runs scored, while Renteria, Brooklyn Thomason, Leni Caldwell and Tessa Murphy all doubled and Emma Wright tripled.
Cerissa Nasis pitched 5 innings and picked up the victory from the circle.
Boerne returned on Friday and beat Churchill, 11-4, behind 13 hits, three of them home runs.
Ava Renteria, Brooklyn Thomason and Kenley Thomason all homered, while Ryleigh Hastings recorded 2 doubles.
Renteria had 2 more hits, both doubles, while Maddie Vasquez knocked out 2 doubles as 9 of Boerne’s 13 hits went for extra bases.
Renteria and Vasquez finished with 3 RBI apiece.
Cerissa Nasis picked up another win and went all 5 innings in the circle.
Boerne closed out the tourney with a 14-1 victory over Dilley and went yard again after Leni Caldwell knocked one out of the park in the fourth frame. She finished with 5 RBI and had a homer, double and single as she just missed hitting for the cycle.
Cerissa Nasis finished with 4 hits, while Jesseanna Aguirre tossed 4 innings to get the win and only gave up 1 run to go with 3 strikeouts.
