Boerne Champion hosted the first track and field meet of the 2025 season recently at BISD Stadium.
Boerne High was scheduled to host a meet last Thursday, also at the stadium, but it was called off because of the weather.
In varsity action, the Lady Chargers were 3rd with 94.66 points behind Reagan (165.33) and Medina Valley (115). NB Canyon (89) placed 4th, followed by the Lady Greyhounds team in fifth with 57 points in the field where at least nine teams scored a point.
On the varsity boys side, Reagan took 1st with 178 points, Champion was second with 145, followed by Medina Valley (135), NB Canyon (59) and Boerne High tallied 38 for 5th in the field where at least nine teams scored.
The Chargers are scheduled to run at the NEISD meet at Heroes on Thursday and the Greyhounds are supposed to run Thursday at the SW Legacy Meet.
RESULTS (Top 6 score points) Boerne Champion Varsity Girls
Champion’s Madison Meinke and Juliana Syroney went 3-4 in the 100 dash with times of 12.86 and 13.0, while Holly Winkenhower finished 6th in the 200 after posting a 27.28 and Meinke was 7th in 27.30.
Kinsley Graff finished 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.61 and Addison Davis placed 5th in 17.04.
Maelee Mares and Graff went 3-4 in the 300-meter hurdles after they posted times of 49.13 and 51.01.
The Chargers relay of Holly Winkenhower, Mikayla Green, Juliana Syroney and Madison Meinke took 1st in the 4x100 after they teamed up for a 49.27, while Kinsley Graff, Winkenhower, Syroney and Green combined for 3rd in the 4x200 after posting a 1:47.
Green, Addison Davis, Michelle Cerna and Payton Kidder teamed up for 2nd in the 4x400 with a time of 4:10.65 behind Reagan’s 1st-place time of 4:10.11.
In the high jump, Maelee Mares and Cassidy Breuer tied for fourth with a jumper from Reagan after they all cleared 4-8 on the same number of jumps.
Hannah Burkett threw the shot put 35-11 for 2nd and Cameron Wampler came in 5th in the discus with a toss of 105-05.
Varsity Boys
Cal Isley took 2nd in the 100 dash with a time of 11.19, Jamarri Bowie won the 200 after posting a 21.98 and Brogan Dempsey was 4th by crossing the finish line in a time of 23.20.
Jaxon Harbuck placed 7th in the 200 with a 23.64 and also came in 5th in the 400 after finishing in 53.36. Caleb Dehart clocked in at 1:56 in the 800 for 2nd and Charlie Houck posted a 4:27 in the 1600 for 2nd, while Houck won the 3200 with a time of 9:45.16 Juan Nava, Cal Isley, Brogan Dempsey and Zachary Garcia teamed up for 1st in the 4x100 relay with a time of 42.79.
Nava, Garcia, Hayden Fridley and Dempsey also took 1st in the 4x200 relay after clocking in at 1:30, while Fridley, Luis Tovar, Jamarri Bowie and Caleb Dehart also won the 4x400 with a time of 3:28 to make it a clean sweep for the Charger boys in the relay events.
Robert Wegleitner placed 2nd in the high jump after he cleared 5-10 on fewer attempts than teammate Jaxon Barnes who cleared 5-10 but was 4th.
Landon Kolacny finished 3rd in the pole vault with a vault of 14-0, Oliver Christian and Trenton Haddock were 4th and 6th in the long jump after Christian leaped 19-04 and Haddock jumped 18-10.5.
Blake Stehling came in 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 46-02 and Stehling also placed 3rd in the discus with a distance of 145-07.
Boerne High Varsity Girls
Savannah Seibert placed 4th in the 200 dash with a time of 26.87 and came in 2nd in the 400 after running a 1:00, while Mary Marino placed 6th in the 400 with a 1:04.22.
Abigail Jendrusch finished 5th in the 1600 with a time of 5:36 and Eleanor Davis came in 4th in the 3200 after she posted a 12:29, while Mallory Miles placed 2nd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.93.
The Boerne girls 4x100 relay finished 4th with a time of 51.17 and the 4x200 was 6th with a time of 1:50.89, while the 4x400 was 5th after posting a 4:24.
Mallory Miles finished 2nd in the high jump after she cleared 5-0 and was also 4th in the long jump with a leap of 15-09.5, while Ella Schram came in 4th in the shot put with a toss of 33-01.75 and was 7th in the discus after a throw of 104-08.
Varsity Boys
William Freeman was 3rd in the 100 dash after posting an 11.22, Barrett Crofut placed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 1:57 and Valor Menn was 7th in 2:03.
Aaron Garcia, Barrett Crofut and Brayden Scott went 5-6-7 in the 1600 after Garcia ran a 4:29, Crofut posted a 4:33 and Scott came in with a 4:34.
Garcia ran a 9:57 in the 3200 for 2nd and Jackson Temple was 5th in the event with a 10:17.
Logan Papia and Dominic Sanchez finished 5th and 6th in the 300 hurdles with times of 45.86 and 46.68.
The BHS 4x400 relay came in 5th with a time of 3:41.
In field events, Valor Menn finished 6th in the triple jump with a leap of 39-05, Logan Schram placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 45-11 and Keagan Fischer was 6th in the shot with a toss of 44-02.
