BOERNE — Hungry Horse Restaurant & Catering will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants later this month, for a show to be broadcast on its social media sites.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently owned restaurants, plans to be in Boerne Feb. 27 to film the restaurant, interview owner Steve Artale, and feature some of the dishes that have made the Hungry Horse a special place in the community.
The America’s Best Restaurants Roadshow episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date. The Hungry Horse began in 1983 in San Antonio, opened by Steve and Paula Artale, and moved to Boerne in 2001.
The horse-themed eatery is known for its hearty portions of comfort food, most available in three sizes: pony, regular and large.
Owner Steve Artale, ABR notes, has been recognized in the Boerne community often, winning “Citizen of the Year” in 2007 and also “Best Business of the Year” for Hungry Horse multiple times.
He is very involved in charitable organizations, including helping to sponsor the American Cancer Relay and the annual Christmas breakfast that benefits the Boerne EMS. Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on customer reviews, menu items, social media presence and level of involvement with their community.
They are found through customer nominations, internal vetting or by a restaurant applying to be featured at www.americasbestrestaurants. com.
