BOERNE — With years of experience working toward the betterment of our communities, Sarah Faulkenberry stands as a passionate leader ready to further elevate our education system and foster the love of learning.
Faulkenberry has announced her intention to seek the Place 4 spot on the Boerne Independent School District board of trustees.
Spending 18 years in volunteer management, community service and organizational support, Sarah cultivated leadership skills that will help our school board improve processes, achieve goals, and be better advocates for all Boerne ISD students.
From serving on multiple committees within the BISD, including the District Education Improvement Committee, calendar committee, site-based committees, to serving six years in leadership on PTO between Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary and Voss Middle School, Sarah has extensive knowledge of our school district.
A proud wife of a wounded veteran, John, she supported the home front through his deployments, serving on several Family Readiness groups. Upon her husband’s medical retirement after he lost his right leg in Afghanistan, Sarah spent time in roles volunteering, caregiving, working and advocating to provide services for veterans with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and Army Community Services.
Sarah has two children, in the sixth and eighth grades. Sarah grew up with her mother serving as a teacher and early childhood specialist in the district for 28 years.
Sarah holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Texas-San Antonio and a bachelor’s degree in restaurant hotel and institutional management from Texas Tech University.
