The Geneva School of Boerne girls soccer team squared off with Schertz John Paul II last week and there was a lot riding on the match.
This year’s district title was up for grabs, and like playing for a league championship should be, it came down to the wire.
The Geneva girls tallied the only goal of the match and claimed this year’s district title, 1-0.
The Eagles are scheduled to play Holy Cross to close out the regular season before beginning playoffs at the end of the month.
The Geneva boys were also scheduled to play Holy Cross.
