The Boerne High boys basketball team closed out the regular season Tuesday at home against Kerrville Tivy.
Without a playoff spot this year, BHS was hoping to send off its three seniors off on a winning note in their final game, but the Antlers didn’t cooperate and won Tuesday’s contest, 77-65.
Boerne ends the season at 18-14 overall and went 5-11 in district action.
This was Boerne’s first foray in the 5A ranks and they finished 6th in the league standings with Champion. The Chargers and Greyhounds split their two district games this year.
The Greyhounds graduate three seniors this year in Casen Hoegemeyer, Nic Hernandez and Hutson Hendrix.
Hoegemeyer led the Greyhounds with 18 points on Tuesday and isn’t done with his senior season. He’ll play in the San Antonio Area All-Star basketball game coming up in March.
Hank Hendrix finished with 11 points, while Noa Sanchez and Hernandez scored 10 points apiece.
Will Traylor netted 6, Slade Salinas and Julien Hartman both chipped in with 4 and Hutson Hendrix added 2.
