Bobcats bop Brady and floor Florence

The Comfort boys basketball team won its last two games and is on the verge of claiming this year’s district title.

Comfort defeated Brady and Florence last week and improved to 8-1 in district. The Bobcats are 21-10 overall and visited Blanco Tuesday to close out the regular season.

Comfort beat Brady on the road last Tuesday, 65-44, and then closed out the week Friday at home with a 40-point walloping of Florence, 77-37.

Even at 8-1, Comfort still had to win Tuesday night to avoid a tie for first place atop the league standings because Ingram is one game behind them and also beat the Bobcats this year.

Ingram handed Comfort its only district loss so far when they beat the Bobcats on Jan. 10, 56-44.

If Comfort lost Tuesday and Ingram won, then they would be tied at 8-2 and since they split, they would have to break the tie by either playing or flipping a coin.

Ingram was home Tuesday to play Llano. Llano only has two wins in district.

Comfort, Ingram, Blanco and Brady are the four playoff teams from 5-3A. Blanco and Brady are 5-4 and split their two games this year.

While Blanco hosted Comfort Tuesday, Brady was at Florence.
