Geneva earns 50-point win over Castle Hills, faced Holy Cross for district title on Monday

The Geneva School of Boerne and Holy Cross boys basketball teams took care of business last Friday to set up Monday’s showdown for first place in San Antonio.

Holy Cross hosted Monday’s district championship contest. For more on Monday’s title tilt, look in this weekend’s Boerne Star.

Geneva was on the road last Friday and beat Castle Hills, 76-26.

Friday’s win improved Geneva to 29-4 overall and 11-0 in district. Holy Cross was 10-1 entering Monday’s contest, with their only loss coming to the Eagles on Dec. 13 (72-56), so Geneva had to win to claim the district crown or else they will have split and been tied for first place.

In last Friday’s game at Castle Hills, Wyatt Bruss finished with 29 points, Jake Roberson added 24, Jack Walker Harden had 11, Colton Lutz scored 7 and Bryce Hanover chipped in with 4.

Harden and Roberson both finished with double- doubles in the game.
