Geneva soccer squads both pick up wins

Geneva School of Boerne soccer teams both picked up wins and were back in action Thursday at home in a couple of big matches.

The Geneva boys team defeated Corpus Christi John Paul II, 3-2, and hosted Holy Cross on Thursday.

It was Senior Night against the Knights and the Eagles honored its four seniors, Griffin Miller, Micah Briggs, John Chisholm and Sam Siller.

On the girls side, the Eagles recorded a 4-0 shutout victory over New Braunfels Christian Academy on the road.

Up next, the Geneva girls faced Schertz John Paul II with the district championship on the line Thursday at home before the boys match.

Prior to that, the Lady Eagles beat Corpus Christi John Paul II, 10-0, on Senior Night.

Seniors for the Geneva girls soccer team this year are Mandy Mills, Kate Friesenhahn, Wimberly Hochart and Raquel Moerdyk.
