Both the Boerne Champion soccer teams were in action Friday against Pieper and both Charger squads were defeated by the Warrior teams that are both standing in first place.

The Chargers returned to action Tuesday and played New Braunfels. The girls were at NB, while the boys hosted the Unicorns.

On Friday, the girls are home vs. Wagner, while the boys visit the Thunderbirds.

Varsity Boys

Pieper defeated the Chargers last Friday at Warrior Stadium to keep them winless so far in 2025.

Champion was kept off the board last Friday and lost the match, 4-0.

The Chargers played the Warriors close through the first half, and for part of the second half, but Pieper pulled away late after they tallied goals in the 56th, 61st, 70th and 73rd minute.

Pieper is 6-0 in district and in first place, just ahead of BHS, which is 5-0-1.

The Chargers were also shutout by Boerne High on Tuesday, 1-0, as they competed well against the top two teams in the district but couldn’t manufacture a goal.

Champion is 0-5-4 overall and 0-2-3 in district. They hosted New Braunfels Tuesday, the school where Chargers head coach Dustin Gold played in the 1990s.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Warriors were also able to score four goals against the Lady Chargers last Friday in Boerne, although the Champion girls managed a goal in the 4-1 defeat.

The Lady Chargers slip to 3-6 overall and are 2-3 in district.

Champion fell behind 3-0 by halftime last Friday and then the teams both tallied one goal each in the second half.

Pieper remains undefeated in district at 5-0-1 in 26-5A and is leading the district as they approach the end of the first round.
