Comfort High basketball teams were on the court last Friday when the boys and girls squads hosted Llano.

The Comfort boys were able to maintain their hold on first place in the standings with a big win, while the girls went to double overtime with the Lady Yellowjackets before getting stung by two points.

Both were at Brady on Tuesday.

Varsity Girls

The Deer almost picked up their second district win of the season but fell to Llano in double overtime, 34-32. Comfort slips to 1-8 in district and is 7-18 overall. Tuesday’s contest at Brady closes out the season for the Deer.

Comfort rallied in the fourth quarter to tie Llano. They were tied again at the end of overtime and it went to the second OT, where the Yellowjackets closed it out.

The Deer were trailing 25-18 going into the fourth quarter, but rallied in the final period of regulation, 8-1, to tie it up at 26-26.

In the first overtime period, both teams tallied 4 points apiece to make it 30-30, but in the second OT, the Yellowjackets outscored the Deer, 4-2 to get

the win.

Varsity Boys

The Bobcats cruised to a 78-49 win over Llano to sweep the Yellowjackets this year.

Comfort is 6-1 in district and 19-10 overall. The Bobcats are one game ahead of Ingram in the standings for first place after the Warriors edged Brady last Friday by a point, 53-52.

Comfort was at Brady Tuesday and then home Friday against Florence. They’ll close out the regular season at Blanco on Feb. 11.

Blanco and Brady are both 4-3 in the district and tied for third place.
