Boerne High’s Che Hendrix announced to his staff and informed Boerne ISD on Monday that he is stepping away from his position as the Greyhounds football coach and has taken a job with the University of Arkansas.
Hendrix leaves BHS after seven seasons and has just reached his 100th career win this past year. He has guided the Greyhounds to two regional titles in the past three seasons, one as a 4A and the other as a 5A.
Hendrix will work as a defensive analyst for the Razorbacks and coach nickel backs. His son, Hutson, has committed to Arkansas and will sign with the school next week.
Coach Hendrix said it’s been a fun ride.
“Boerne has been an incredible place to raise our family,” he said. “I’m extremely proud of our coaches, players, community and the athletic program we have built. The past seven years have been incredible.”
Boerne ISD Athletic Director Stan Leech said they will post the job opening and hope to fill it by March 1.
