Boerne’s district win streak ends, but undefeated streak continues

While one streak ended for the Boerne High boys soccer team, another streak continues.

The Greyhounds entered last Friday with a 50-match win streak but Smithson Valley tied Boerne to end the streak, but the BHS boys are still undefeated in their last 51 district matches so the streak continues in another fashion.

Boerne and the Rangers battled to a 3-3 tie Friday at BISD Stadium to leave BHS at 5-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in district.

The Greyhounds looked to keep the district-unbeaten streak going Tuesday when they visit Champion, a team they’ve never beaten. They host Alamo Heights Friday, the school where BHS head coach Michael Strong graduated from. In Friday’s match, Felix Theiss tallied a goal on the Carsten Bain assist, while Shae Gonzales and Jesus Alachan both knocked in unassisted goals for the Greyhounds.
