So far, the Boerne Champion volleyball team has been perfect through district play and is 3-0 in the 26-5A standings after they defeated Alamo Heights Tuesday at Charger Gym.
Champion won the match, 25- 22, 25- 11, 27-25 and hasn’t dropped a set in wins against Veterans Memorial, Smithson Valley and now the Lady Mules.
Champion is 24-4 overall and visited Boerne High in their first-ever meeting.
The Greyhounds hosted Friday’s match and the Chargers will host the Lady Hounds in the second round of district play on Oct. 15.
In Tuesday’s match with the Mules, Taylor Fenton led the team in kills with 7, Ella Coleman added 6 kills, while Cassidy Breuer, Briley Wolff and Brielle Boothe all chipped in with 5 kills.
Azteca Crawford tallied 3 aces, Wolff, Boothe and Coleman all dropped in 2 aces for the Chargers that finished with 10 aces in the match.
Champion dominated at the net and Wolff came up with 6 blocks, while Breuer and Fenton both added 5 blocks.
Samantha Calderon paced the Chargers in digs with 15, while Coleman and Boothe came up with a dozen digs each.
Crawford led the team in assists after she recorded 27 of them.
