Boerne High played in the Hill Country Team Tennis Tournament last weekend, while Champion stayed close to home and played in Boerne on Friday afternoon in a non-district match.

BHS went 3-1 at the tournament and is 7-1 overall.
Boerne opened the event Friday with an 11-0 win over Marshall and then defeated College Station in the second round, 10-1, to advance to the semifinals.
Boerne beat Lubbock Cooper in the semis on Saturday morning, 10-5, to face Flour Bluff in the championship match. In the finals, the Hornets defeated the Greyhounds, 10-7, to claim the title and leave Boerne in second place.
The Greyhounds hosted Veterans Memorial for a district match on Tuesday and then host Brennan on Friday before beginning a string of district matches starting next week.
Champion
A short-handed Boerne Champion played a non-district match on Friday afternoon against Wimberley and fell to the Texans, 11-4. The Chargers were without their top three boys players.
It was as home match for the Chargers but they played at Boerne High where they’ll play all their home matches this year.
Champion stands at 4-3 after Friday. The Chargers were scheduled to host Antonian in another non-district match Monday but that contest was rained out.
Champion is off until Thursday, Sept. 5, when they continue district play against Alamo Heights at Boerne High.
They’ll tangle with the Greyhounds on Sept. 10 in a battle of Boerne ISD schools.
