The Boerne ISD tennis teams were the first to kick off regular-season play for the 2024-25 school year.
Both the Chargers and Greyhounds were in action Friday and hosted two matches each.
Champion and Boerne High both played Friendswood and Clark. The Chargers hosted Clark in the morning and won 11-7 and then in the afternoon, they welcomed Friendswood and lost, 12-7, to begin the season at 1-1.
It was the opposite opponent for the Greyhounds after they beat Friendswood in the morning, 12-7, and then hosted Clark in the afternoon and won, 11-8, to start the year at 2-0.
Friendswood and Clark played on Saturday in San Antonio.
District play began this week for both the Chargers and Greyhounds. Champion was at Veterans Memorial Tuesday to open league play. They’ll have a couple of non-district matches this weekend.
The Greyhounds hosted Wagner Tuesday to kick off league play before playing Antonian in a non-district match Friday.
