The Boerne softball team opened district play Friday afternoon by thumping Bandera, 15-0, in 2.5 innings.
Boerne opens district at 1-0 and is 14-4 overall. The Lady Greyhounds are at Davenport Tuesday as they continue 28-4A action.
BHS did all its damage in just two at bats as it scored 9 runs in the first inning and added 6 in the second to get its 15 runs. The Hounds didn’t bat in the third.
Boerne finished with 9 hits, including an insidethe-park home run and atriple by Taryn Madlock, who scored twice and drove in 4 runs.
Brooke Sivek hit 3 singles and scored all three times; Heidi Maytum singled, picked up 2 RBI and scored once; Cameron Cooper hit 2 singles, pushed in a run and crossed home plate twice; Ava Rodriguez tripled and scored and collected 2 RBI; Reese Wilson turned 2 walks into 2 runs; Madi Dorrow had an RBI and scored twice; and Ava Nieto and Taylor Wilson both scored once with Wilson driving in 2 runs.
Dorrow picked up the win on 54 pitches and tossed a no hitter. She fanned 9 and walked 2 in 3 innings of work, and every out was a strikeout.
